Flashcards Set 15: Uimhreacha (Numbers)
Dia Daoibh! This week, we'll be covering the basic cardinal numbers in Irish. Over the following weeks, we'll cover ordinal numbers and how counting is different for objects and people in Irish.
The letter "a" must be placed in front of all these numbers.
The numbers from 11-19 are simply the numbers 1-9 with the suffix "déag" attached to them. For example, the number 7 is "a seacht", and the number 17 is "a seacht déag".
For the numbers that are greater than 20, the letter "a" must be stated between two numbers that are being added. For example, the number 58 is "a caoga a hOcht" ("caoga" is 50 and "hOcht" is 8).
We hope you found this useful!
